Somewhere along the way
A poem about forgetting and returning.
Somewhere along the way, we let others decide what to do with our ideas and our hearts.
This is an invitation to remember: your heart knows best.
Somewhere along the way,
we forget truth lives in us,
wisdom our birthright,
our hearts, the knower of all things.
Somewhere along the way,
We think our great ideas need grand overtures
and complex steps to answer simple questions.
Somewhere along the way,
we forget who we are is what becomes.
You do not need a dozen roses to smile,
nor the most of anything.
What you are is what becomes.
Somewhere along the way,
we forget and let others decide what we do with our ideas and our hearts.
Connections beyond our grasp surround our essence,
some come to add,
others come to take all that is you.
Beware of hungry appetites,
beckoning your brilliance only to leave you wilted and hardened.
Your essence is all you have; do not be fooled.
Keep your essence sacred.
Go the way you are called, and protect your essence.
Simplicity is the greatest skill of all.
Trust what you do is enough,
and let your heart pour itself- openly and wildly,
it is when we close we lose the way.
Somewhere along the way, we forget,
and, somewhere along the way,
we are given chances to remember.
Leap into remembrance.
Your heart knows best
Your heart knows best
Your heart knows best.
